White Sox: Can Brett Lawrie Stay Healthy This Season?

Chicago White Sox second baseman Brett Lawrie has battled injuries throughout his MLB career. Last season was no exception as he was ultimately sidelined for the season after injuring his hamstring in late July.

With stiff competition at second base this spring, Lawrie needs a healthy season to remain the starting second baseman. Tyler Saladino, who filled in for Lawrie last season had a solid 2016 in which he had career highs in batting average (.282), home runs (8) and games played (93). The Sox also have a future second baseman in camp in Yoan Moncada.
