The White Sox purchased the contract of Triple-A reliever Bruce Rondon Sunday to take the place of Juan Minaya.
Rondon, 27, had one scoreless inning at Charlotte. He was 8-7 with a 5.00 ERA in various stints with the Tigers from 2013-’17, and signed as a minor-league free agent in January.
Minaya was optioned to Charlotte after walking four batters in Saturday’s loss and struggling from the outset of the season.
With the addition of Rondon, the Sox’s 40-man roster now stands at 40.
