The White Sox called up right-hander Odrisamer Despaigne from Triple-A Charlotte and released injured outfielder Nicky Delmonico on Monday.
The team also placed left-handed reliever Jace Fry on the 10-day injured list with left shoulder soreness.
Despaigne, 32, has been plugged in to start tonight’s series opener against the Nationals, a move that was expected after the Sox placed Dylan Covey on the injured list Sunday with right shoulder inflammation.
Despaigne signed with the Reds as a minor-league free agent in January, was released May 16, and signed with the Sox three days later.
