The White Sox have a new hitting coach at Triple-A Charlotte, per a tweet from FanCred's Jon Heyman.
White Sox hire Frank Menechino for aaa hitting coach
— Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) November 28, 2018
Menechino spent the past five seasons as an assistant hitting coach with the Miami Marlins, joining that organization in 2013, the year after Ozzie Guillen's lone season as the Marlins' skipper.
The White Sox used a 45th-round pick on Menechino back in 1993 — the same draft in which they selected Greg Norton and Mike Sirotka — and he later reached the majors, playing seven seasons with the Oakland Athletics and Toronto Blue Jays.
