The Chicago White Sox combined for just four singles today in a 7-0 drubbing at the hands of the Oakland A’s. Two of the singles came from Tim Anderson, along with a stolen base. His performance is about the only highlight for the White Sox today.
Ross Detwiler was greeted with a solo shot from Matt Chapman in the first to give the A’s a quick 1-0 lead. In the second inning Detwiler gave up another solo shot, this time to Stephen Piscotty. Other than those two home runs, Detwiler was solid. He was able to keep the Sox in the game through 5 1⁄3 innings, giving up two runs on four hits while striking out four and walking four.
