White Sox believe scoreboard project "will change game experience"

Brooks Boyer received text messages in the middle of White Sox games last season addressing a frequent problem.

"Do you know that the scoreboard is flashing?" one asked.

Boyer, the Sox senior vice president for sales and marketing, expects much better reports about the scoreboards this year as the team makes headway on a $7.3 million project to install three new boards at U.S. Cellular Field.

New video boards in right and left field, each nearly 2,500 square feet, have been installed. The center field board, slightly larger than 8,000 square feet and measuring 60 feet at its peak by 134 wide, should be up in mid-February.
