White Sox believe in Blake Rutherford's swing, even if it's not producing results yet

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — As new White Sox prospect Blake Rutherford strode into the box in the third inning on Aug. 6, the stadium PA for the Greensboro Grasshoppers announced that he had been christened the “Biscuitville Strikeout Victim of the Game.”

This meant that if Rutherford struck out, the entire crowd would receive $5 coupons to Biscuitville, which, despite being a lifelong northerner, I was able to glean was probably a local restaurant. With a 2-1 count, Rutherford fouled away a pitch on the outside corner. With two strikes, what I had initially thought was an odd sound effect from the PA became a chant.
