White Sox batters strike out 16 times in 8-4 loss to the Yankees

Yankees opener Chad Green struck out Leury Garcia to begin the bottom of the first.

It was the first of 16 strikeouts by Sox hitters in an 8-4 loss to the Yankees in front of a sellout crowd of 36,074 Saturday at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Eloy Jimenez and Jose Abreu each had two hits, and James McCann hit a three-run homer in the loss.

Every batter in the Sox starting lineup struck out at least once. McCann and Welington Castillo struck out three times.
