Oft-injured Chicago White Sox designated hitter Eloy Jimenez was activated from the 10-day injured list and placed in the starting lineup Sunday against the Detroit Tigers.
Jimenez is batting third against the Tigers.
In a corresponding move, the White Sox optioned outfielder Oscar Colas to Triple-A Charlotte.
Jimenez, 27, injured his hamstring while running the bases May 21 and missed 29 games. In April, he was out for 12 games with an adductor strain.
He is hitting .231 with five homers and 12 RBIs in 36 games this season.
