In a season gone awry, the White Sox have usually been able to take solace when Chris Sale is on the mound.
"You're always excited to see him go out there," manager Robin Ventura said before Sale took the hill against the Twins on Sunday at sun-splashed U.S. Cellular Field.
The excitement didn't last long this time as Sale was rocked in his 28th start of the season during the Twins' 7-0 shellacking of the Sox in front of a crowd of 23,159.
Sale yielded six runs — including four in the first inning — on nine hits as he dropped to 12-9.
