When the Chicago White Sox traded closer Addison Reed to the Arizona Diamondbacks for third baseman Matt Davidson, the consensus at the time was that the team had finally found a long-term answer at the position.
Fast forward to today and it is no secret that Davidson has done little to get himself promoted to the major leagues. Coming into this season, Baseball America had Davidson now ranked as the White Sox second best third base prospect in the organization.
The first? Trey Michalczewski.
Michalczewski, a seventh round pick in 2013, is a switch-hitter with a smooth swing and some pop.
