The White Sox haven’t had a winning season since 2012. Robin Ventura was the manager at the time but would never come close to managing the Sox to another winning season. Rick Renteria replaced Ventura as manager after the 2016 season and hasn’t had a team talented enough to finish a season .500 or better.
Entering the 2019 season, the White Sox could have one of their better teams in quite some time. Especially if Manny Machado agrees to sign with the Sox. The Sox front office has been aggressive in adding talent through free agent signings and trades.
