Frank Thomas didn’t see much action in 2005.
After missing the first two months of the season recovering from the broken foot he suffered in 2004, he played just 34 games before getting injured again and missing the remainder of the campaign, including the run to the World Series.
But in that handful of games, the best hitter in team history made a sizable impact on the best season in franchise history. Thomas launched a dozen homers in only 124 trips to the plate. He had an OPS north of .900 even with career lows in batting average and on-base percentage.
