Astros brute Evan Gattis ran into Chris Sale the other night at Joe’s Stone Crab.
“I told him not to strike us out,” Gattis said.
Sale didn’t listen.
Nine Houston hitters went down Thursday night, and none more memorably than Carlos Correa. He is one of the game’s best young hitters, a Cal Ripken-sized shortstop feted as the American League Rookie of the Year at age 20.
Correa was looking for a fastball to begin his third at-bat against Sale. He got a changeup, and Correa’s timing was so off, he made contact off the end of the bat, shattering it in three pieces.
