Wednesday's recap: Astros 5, White Sox 3

Colby Rasmus and Jason Castro homered off White Sox right-hander Mat Latos to help lift the Astros to a 5-3 lead Wednesday night at U.S. Cellular Field. Latos allowed five earned runs on 11 hits over 5 1/3 innings to put the Sox in the early hole.

The Sox’s biggest highlight came in the eighth, when they became the first team since the 2007 Phillies to turn two triple plays in one season.

After Dan Jennings walked the first two hitters he faced, George Springer grounded out to third baseman Todd Frazier. He threw to second baseman Brett Lawrie, who rifled it to Jose Abreu at first base.
