Twins blank White Sox 7-0

The Chicago White Sox sent ace Chris Sale to the mound as they attempted to win a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins on Sunday at U.S. Cellular Field.

Sale leads the American League with 247 strikeouts and holds the fifth-highest single-season total in Sox history, 22 shy of the record of 269 set by Hall-of-Famer Ed Walsh in 1908.

Manager Robin Ventura said every time Sale takes the ball something special could happen.

"Anytime he goes out there anything is possible," Ventura said. "He’s got great stuff so I think anytime that guy toes the rubber there’s probably a glimmer for everybody to see how that first inning goes and see if there’s a possibility.
