Trip to see Eloy Jimenez doesn't disappoint as he calls his own shot

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — For this entire prospect trip to North Carolina, I had one real hard and fast goal, and that was to talk to Eloy Jimenez before he was promoted to Double-A Birmingham. I would be hard-pressed to find a member of the Winston-Salem Dash, or a team employee, that didn't think this was happening soon. They refer to his presence as “The Eloy Jimenez Experience,” as if it's a traveling festival that's parked in town for an unknown but expectedly brief stretch of time.

With that in tow, the reason I spent Friday night parked in the seats behind home plate and not in the safety of the press box, next to where even Dash pitchers Ian Clarkin and Zach Thompson had set up to do their charting, was pretty much singular as well: to get video in case Eloy Jimenez did something ridiculous.
