Basketball may run in his family but Trayce Thompson has been a baseball player since his father Mychal could remember.
The entire Thompson family is in town after the White Sox outfielder was promoted to the major leagues for the first time on Monday. Unlike his father and two older brothers, Mychel and Klay, Trayce Thompson is the family’s only baseball player. But similar to his brothers and father, Trayce Thompson is the fourth member of the family to play at the highest level of his sport.
“He walked around at 4 years old, no exaggeration, that kid walked around with a bat in his hand,” Mychal Thompson said.
