Trayce Thompson makes MLB debut in White Sox loss

With his first start expected to come Wednesday, Trayce Thompson got his feet wet on Tuesday night.

The White Sox outfielder made his major league debut in an 11-3 loss, striking out in a pinch-hit at-bat in the seventh inning. Playing in front of his family, Thompson took over in center field for Adam Eaton and finished the game.

Prior to Tuesday’s contest, White Sox manager Robin Ventura suggested Thompson could start in Wednesday’s series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays against right-hander Erasmo Ramirez.

“I was more calm than I thought I’d be,” Thompson said.
