This past Friday, six young men from Youth Guidance’s Becoming A Man (BAM) program took a step out of the realities of Chicago and explored the incredible history of African Americans in baseball at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, Missouri. For a few students in the group, it was the first time they were able to leave Chicago and fly on an airplane thanks to the support of United Airline.
As part of shortstop Tim Anderson and his wife Bria’s League of Leaders program, the White Sox welcomed the group to the museum to listen to the stories of perseverance, determination and sacrifice of those who played the game to pave the way for all.
