Tim Anderson sprinted from home to first before Sunday’s game against the Boston Red Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field, testing his injured hamstring.
“Expectation, unless something develops between now and Tuesday, is that he will play Tuesday,” Sox manager Tony La Russa said.
Anderson has been on the injured list since Aug. 29 with a left hamstring strain. The White Sox concluded a three-game series against the Red Sox on Sunday and have Monday off before beginning a three-game series Tuesday against the Los Angeles Angels at home.
“The key is his legs are such a critical part of his game,” La Russa said.
