Tonight’s gamethread talked about how the Chicago White Sox should have been ALL over Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Drew VerHagen.
He entered tonight’s game with a 3.00 WHIP over his last seven starts and an ERA over 11.00.
But VerHagen and the Tigers were too much for the Sox to salvage the nightcap of today’s doubleheader. Detroit beat the Sox, 10-6.
Hector Santiago got the start for the Sox and was pretty bad. Not sure what exactly Sox fans were expecting to see from him, but Santiago went 4 2⁄3 innings, giving up five runs (four earned), seven hits and two walks.
