Tigers 4, White Sox 3: late-inning meltdown

In a late meltdown from the bullpen, the Detroit Tigers stole the game from the Chicago White Sox with a 4-3 win. This secures the sweep in Detroit’s first homestand of the season, and drops the South Siders record to 2-7, having lost five straight after a 2-2 start.

Two White Sox runs came in the top of the first inning off of Jackson Jobe. Mike Tauchman started the game off with a single, and Luis Robert Jr. walked to put runners on first and second. With one out, Andrew Vaughn singled to right, and Matt Thaiss had a sacrifice fly to pad the early lead to 2-0.
