Billy Butler's three-run homer off White Sox closer David Robertson lifted the Athletics to a 4-2 victory Thursday at U.S. Cellular Field. With two on, one out and a 2-1 Sox lead, Sox right fielder Avisail Garcia got his glove on the homer, but it bounced out and into the bullpen.
Turning point
With one out in the ninth, Brett Lawrie doubled and Danny Valencia singled off Robertson to put A's runners on the corners before Butler's home run.
At the plate
The day after becoming the first player in history to hit a home run for the Cubs and Sox in the same season, Mike Olt crushed another homer to the left-field concourse, estimated at 443 feet.
