‘Those types of games are the most fun’: Lucas Giolito bounces back from a tough opening day to salvage the White Sox’s series finale against the Indians

First he walked Cesar Hernandez. Then Jose Ramirez singled to right, putting Indians on first and third with no outs. Adding to the drama, Francisco Lindor and Carlos Santana were the next two hitters in the lineup.

He struck out Lindor in a five-pitch at-bat (three changeups and two fastballs) and then got Santana to ground into an inning-ending double play to keep the game scoreless.

That was the case the entire night. Giolito bounced back from a rough opening-day start in a big way, pitching six shutout innings in the Sox’s 4-0 victory at Progressive Field.
