It goes without saying that 2020 has been anything but normal. And like the rest of the world, the Chicago sports scene has been greatly affected — and altered — by COVID-19.
Media members were allowed onto Halas Hall grounds for training camp for the first time Aug. 17, and here’s the routine so far. We answer a questionnaire when we wake up each morning about possible COVID-19 exposure or symptoms and take our own temperature. If we are cleared to drive to the facility, we wear masks and have our temperature taken again at the gate. A Bears media relations representative escorts us to the practice field about an hour before practice so we don’t cross paths with any players or coaches.
