Ask Eloy Jimenez about his spring training home run last year against the Cubs and he smiles. Not just because it came against his former team, but some of his White Sox teammates, like Yoan Moncada predicted it would happen.
“When I did it, (Moncada) was one of the guys who said, ‘I think you’re going to hit a home run if you play today.’ When I did, I smiled because he said it and he believed it,” Jimenez said.
The White Sox top prospect who had been dealing with a sore knee and wasn’t supposed to play in the game last March, kept pestering manager Rick Renteria in the dugout to put him in the game.
