Last Night’s Highlights
James Shields was outstanding for 7.1 innings and Welington Castillo’s two-run double highlighted a four-run eighth as the White Sox came from behind to defeat the Rangers, 4–2, in the opener of the four-game series and eight-game homestand at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Shields (pictured above, top) allowed just a run and three hits while striking out eight. Luis Avilán came on relief, retired two batters in the eighth and earned his first win of the season. Nate Jones pitched the ninth for his second save.
