NEW YORK — Mike Olt watched footage of the Cubs celebrating their playoff berth Saturday with mixed emotions.
The Cubs' opening day third baseman this year and a member of the organization from 2013 until Sept. 5, he was friends with many of the revelers. But he also is thankful for a new shot with the White Sox, who claimed him off waivers.
"They have a good thing going there," Olt said of the Cubs. "I have a lot of good friendships over there, so I hope they do well. I'll definitely be watching it.
"It is hard for me to watch knowing this year was definitely a big year for me coming into it, and I was ready.
