GLENDALE, Ariz. — The goal of being a catcher dates back to Little League, when Zack Collins told his father he just wanted to throw people out. While he's since made considerable progress and has a top collegiate catching award on his mantle, Collins' desire to be a major league backstop has remained steadfast.
Whether it's proving those who doubt he can stay behind the plate wrong or wanting to be a better all-around player, Collins has spent his first big league camp fine-tuning his skillset in order to become the White Sox catcher of the future. So far the team is excited about what their 2016 first-round draft pick has done and believes he's the future.
