At the outset, the Chicago White Sox were leading Wednesday’s game, 1-0, and with Ross Detwiler allowing just one single against the first five Minnesota Twins hitters, things looked promising. Tenuous, but promising.
Well, another single and a three-run bomb from Jonathan Schoop later, and the Twins would have all the runs they’d need for the win, and Detwiler was more than halfway to a thorough shelling.
By the eighth, the Twins had plated eight, handing the White Sox a second straight defeat, 8-2.
Jake Odorizzi wasn’t particularly sharp for Minnesota, but Chicago’s propensity for strikeouts lent him aid, to the tune of eight, against just two walks (the White Sox would add four more Ks to their game tab, for another unruly K-to-BB ratio).
