White Sox rookie Kevan Smith said he felt "a little weight lifted off the shoulders" when he knocked a single up the middle for his first major-league hit Saturday night at Kauffman Stadium.
The hit off Royals reliever Dillon Gee came in the fifth inning of Smith's third major-league start. Less than 24 hours later, Smith collected his second hit while filling in at catcher late in Sunday's 10-3 loss to the Royals.
"It's almost like you are on a cloud kind of," Smith said of his first hit.
