DETROIT – One day after Robin Ventura’s roll of the dice was successful, he found out that two days of magic might be a little too much to ask.

The White Sox had the tying run at third base with one out in the ninth inning, but stranded the runner in a 5-4 defeat to the Detroit Tigers.
