Outside of being magnets for criticism by their teams' fans, Robin Ventura and Starlin Castro don't have a whole lot in common.
But with summer officially here and the Stanley Cup taking up residency in Chicago, the city once again turns its attention to baseball, and the fates of Ventura and Castro are being debated in living rooms, barrooms and workplaces, if not in the front offices of the White Sox and Cubs.
Ventura, the embattled Sox manager, continues to take heat for the travails of a team that was supposed to contend but collectively forgot how to hit.
