White Sox struck first on a Luis Robert Jr. solo home run to center field in the bottom of the first inning.
The Red Sox tied the game in the top of the third inning by Bobby Dalbec and took the lead when Jarren Duran stole home.
However, their lead did not last long. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Paul DeJong singles on a line drive to left field, allowing Gavin Sheets to score timing against the Red Sox 2–2. Oscar Colás singled on a sharp ground ball to center field, bringing home Andrew Vaughn and Paul DeJong.
