Right Sox win, 6-1, for two in a row

Nothing like a little ol’ grand slam to push a game in a wining direction and make home fans forget about the rain that came down from the fourth inning on. The slam, which ended up becoming the deciding runs in a 6-1 win, came in the fifth, and it was a career first for Gavin Sheets.

The slam was a no-doubter, 399 feet at 105.6 mph. It followed an Andrew Vaughn infield single that had tied the game at one, which in turn followed a terrible call by ump Alan Porter on a 3-2 pitch to Zach DeLoach that was well into the strike zone and should have ended the inning but instead loaded the bases.
