Less than three years have passed since Rick Renteria managed a game at Wrigley Field, but the events that have filled that span for Chicago's baseball teams have been monumental.
The Cubs went from a rebuilding team under Renteria to a World Series champion under Joe Maddon. Renteria went from the displaced North Side leader to the manager of a White Sox club looking to reconstruct its own way to contention on the South Side.
The change in tides will make for a rare dynamic as Renteria returns with the Sox to Wrigley Field for the first of four City Series games Monday.
