A little moment happened, about an hour after the White Sox announced Monday’s season opener was postponed and the fans had all emptied out. Guaranteed Rate Field’s massive array of video panels all flashed the number “40” and soon a larger than life projection of a sheepish-looking Reynaldo Lopez, face buried under his Sox cap and dressed in home whites, hovered over center field.

Probably just a test, but testing for an increasingly near future. General manager Rick Hahn didn’t want to indicate that spring training altered their timeline to call up top prospects, but he acknowledged who stood out.
