The Indians sent starting pitcher Zach Plesac back to Cleveland on Sunday for violating Major League Baseball’s health and safety protocols, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Cleveland is in town this weekend for a series against the White Sox. Plesac, a Crown Point, Ind. native, left the team hotel on Saturday night to go out with friends in Chicago, Rosenthal and ESPN reported.
Players must get permission from their team’s health and safety compliance officer to leave the hotel on the road. Plesac, 25, will quarantine for three days and be tested daily before the team decides how to proceed.
