Near the end of the 15 minutes Chris Sale sat in front of Red Sox backdrop in a full conference room of Boston and Chicago media on Sunday morning at Guaranteed Rate Field, he was asked if he had any contrition about his time with the White Sox.
His spindly 6-foot-6 frame already gives him a hunched-over, reflective posture in chairs built for normal people, but he exaggerated the look as he went silent for a couple seconds in thought.
“Nah,” Sale said. “It got me to where I am today. Can’t change the past, just try to become better in the future.
