Just a game ago, Brett went nuts with highlights, celebrating a rare White Sox romp and even rarer romp over a really good team.
Tonight, the White Sox did not romp, even facing a not-really good team. Still, the jetstream up from Baltimore to Boston proved too cool, as the bats were iced in a 3-1 loss to the Carmines that was every bit the flaccid attack you imagine: One extra-base hit among a grand total of FIVE safeties.
The White Sox needed to finish the season with 21 straight wins to avoid becoming the worst team in franchise history (see below); alas, a record win streak to save the season is not to be.
