An old teammate got the better of White Sox left-hander Jose Quintana on Thursday night at U.S. Cellular Field.
Former Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez hit an RBI single with two on base in the second inning for the first run of the game, and the Rays led the Sox and Quintana 2-0 in the fourth inning.
Mikie Mahtook homered in the fourth off Quintana to push the lead to two runs.
The Sox had three hits over the first three innings but couldn’t drive in a run against Rays right-hander Chris Archer, who was trying to avoid becoming a 20-game loser this year.
