The Texas Rangers acquired outfielder Robbie Grossman from the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday morning for minor league right-hander Anthony Hoopii-Tuionetoa.
Grossman, 34, was part of Texas' World Series-winning team last season before signing with the White Sox as a free agent in March.
Grossman was batting .211 with four doubles and four RBIs in 25 games for Chicago, which entered Wednesday with the worst record in baseball at 8-28.
Grossman had 10 home runs and 49 RBIs while batting .238 in 115 regular-season games for the Rangers last year.
