Q&A: White Sox pitching prospect Dane Dunning talks mechanics, getting angry and wanting a ring

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. —Bespectacled White Sox pitching prospect Dane Dunning is a very technical guy. He’ll launch into a walk-through of his mechanics without hesitation and has a reputation for “pitchability,” which might make what an imposing figure he is a small surprise. The 2016 first-round pick stands a well-built 6-foot-4 and has built a reputation for intensity on the mound, and possibly at the chess table too.

Right now, it looks like he’s starting another roll like the one that got him promoted from Low-A Kannapolis after just four starts. He’s struck out 17 batters in 14 innings with just one run allowed over his last two starts with the Dash.
