Yesterday’s Highlights
Matt Davidson launched three home runs — a three-run blast and two solo shots — Tim Anderson went deep with two homers, a solo clout and a two-run job, and José Abreu added a two-run dinger as the White Sox tied an MLB Opening Day HR record and overcame a 4–0 first-inning deficit last night to overwhelm the Royals, 14–7, in Kansas City.
The six homers equaled the big-league mark set by the 1988 Mets. The Sox scored five runs in the fourth (featuring back-to-back homers by Abreu and Davidson) and three apiece in the fifth, seventh and eighth to secure the come-from-behind win.
