Immediately after the Chicago White Sox loss to the Chicago Cubs at Camelback Ranch this afternoon, the team sent seven players to the minors.
First baseman Casey Gillaspie was assigned to Class AAA Charlotte, while pitchers Chris Beck, Dane Dunning and Connor Walsh, infielders Jake Elmore and Patrick Leonard, and catcher Seby Zavala head to minor-league camp.
None of the cuts are surprising, and none meaningfully alter the makeup of the anticipated Opening Day roster.
The White Sox now have 38 players left in their major-league camp: 21 pitchers, three catchers, seven infielders and seven outfielders.
