Chicago didn’t have time to learn much about new White Sox manager Rick Renteria in his time on the North Side, but this time around, Renteria is working his way into the hearts of Sox fans through their stomachs. On Wednesday morning, the team’s pre-SoxFest tour stopped in Pilsen at Benito Juarez Community Academy for a cooking demonstration by Renteria.
Renteria is comfortable in the kitchen, and as the White Sox teased on social media last week, one of his specialities is queso fundido.
