New faces on the White Sox: With nothing to lose, Jacob May wins center-field job

Jacob May billed himself as a "dark horse" candidate to join the White Sox outfield in spring training.

The 25-year-old switch hitter has been ranked as high as No. 8 in the Sox farm system by mlb.com and was No. 26 entering this season. But he also opened the spring competing for the center-field job with No. 12 prospect Charlie Tilson and veteran Peter Bourjos, so he figured he had nothing to lose.

"I'm not someone that is really talked about a lot, which is fine with me," May said. "I don't really care about that stuff.
