When Geovany Soto was a young catcher getting his first taste of the big leagues, he relied upon former Cubs catcher and current coach Henry Blanco for guidance.
Soto, now a veteran who has played parts of 12 seasons with five teams, said Blanco was a "very important piece of my success," a sentiment he previously expressed after winning the 2008 National League Rookie of the Year Award.
Soto hopes he can have a similar impact this season with the White Sox.
"That guy was my mentor," Soto said. "He helped me so much.
