NBC Sports Chicago keeps teasing its new studio set, which will have its inaugural telecast Friday before the Chicago White Sox season opener.
What’s most notable about the set is its scale. It’s huge. All told, the space is 4,100 square feet.
There’s a 23-foot wide LED monitor in its main anchor area, There’s also a demonstration area with a 16-foot by 9-foot wall monitor, a 15-by-8 LED floor and four vertical monitors. Throughout the studio are LED tiles so the look can change instantly to match whatever sport and team is being discussed.
NBC Sports Chicago’s Chuck Garfien keeps saying during preseason White Sox telecasts that former Sox manager-turned-analyst Ozzie Guillen told him it’s nicer than Guillen’s home.
